Dumb Dog

So Prince is a good dog.

He really is.

So it was a little bit of a shocker to come home over the last week and a half or so to see what Prince has destroyed this time.

Mostly it was a plastic bag or napkins that were left on the end table or the coffee table.  It wasn't a big deal, just really...REALLY annoying.

So this past Friday I took everything he could eat (a large bag of Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs, a roll of paper towels and a few other things) and moved them onto the kitchen counter.

You would think everything was fine then, right?  Wrong.  Not with my lovely wife in the house!

I went to work and Kimmy was home on her off day from work and (unknown to me at the time was just hanging around until the baby shower for us at my job, which was supposed to be a surprise, but as you can imagine I am smarter than everyone) as you can imagine, her being extremely pregnant, she wanted those Reese's Eggs.

She ate however many she ate and left the bag on the coffee table (the place I previously moved them from, knowing Prince has been bad about that lately) and off she went to my job for the baby shower with my work people.

Prince then went on a murderous rampage in an effort to rid our house of all Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs!
He ate, roughly, 20 of these peanut butter eggs.

He must have been in peanut butter heaven.  They probably tasted better than anything he ever ate in his almost two-year-old life.

One...minor...detail though.

In addition to eating almost 20 peanut butter eggs, he also ate, 20 peanut butter egg plastic wrappers.

Yeah.  He ate the eggs AND the wrappers they were wrapped in.

Like the title says...Dumb Dog.

Story doesn't end there though.  Kimmy called our vet and they said he should be fine, but just to look out for tremors or anything out of the ordinary.

That's fine, we kept an eye out and everything was fine that night.

The whole next day (Saturday).

And then most of Saturday night.  Most of.

Very early Sunday morning, around 3am, I awoke to my wonderful dog throwing up.

I felt bad, because I mean no one likes to throw up, I assume it isn't pleasant for him either.

I dragged myself out of bed and got the clean up materials and entered the room.

Gross.  Really really gross.

There were three solid piles of throw up, the two smaller piles were mostly liquid and a little food and they were right there as soon as I opened the door.

The biggest pile was right in front of the bed.  It was huge.  And it contained, as you can imagine, roughly 20 Reese's Peanut Butter Egg wrappers.

It was basically just a huge pile of undigested plastic (or whatever those wrappers are made of).

Anyway, he's fine if you wondering.  No side effects or weird reactions.

Just Prince being Prince.

Dumb dog.

  1. LOL, I thoroughly appreciate the 'labels' on this blog entry :-P (i.e. Throw Up, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups). Can't wait for the next Throw up blog! :)

  2. Haaa priceless! I'd be pissed about coming home and finding I have no peanut butter eggs left. After learning that Prince is OK,of course.

  3. But...He looks so sophiiscated sitting on his throne!!! LOL
