Mom! Mom! Mommy! Mommy! Momma! Momma! Ma! Ma! Ma! Mom!....WHAT???!!!

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mommy's out there! This greeting is not solely reserved for women with children, it's extended to pet mommy's as well. We all know that raising a pet is quite a job. I think you have alllll heard me complain about Prince from time to time. Damn dog is more work than an actual child, haha. Remember Will's previous post about the Reese's cups? Don't get me started...
Even though Mother's Day is one of the biggest "greeting card holidays", it is definitely a good time to think about your Mom- you know the woman that carried you around in her womb for nine months and then went through 920345759980 hours of labor to get you into this world. As an official mom now, I think it is in my job description to remind Will Jr of all the pain and agony I went through when he decides to disobey me or tell me how unfair I am being... you know during those fun teenage years to come!

When I think back over the short 24 years of my life, my mom is in the background of every scene. Always there for every dance recital, band concert, school play, award ceremony, etc...my mom has been my number one fan, cheering me on from the sidelines. (My dad too, but this is a Mother's Day post, right?)
My mom is really one of a kind. I think one of my favorite things about my mom is that she is not perfect. Yep, that's right folks... on a day solely devoted to honoring your mother, I am calling mine out for her faults! One classic story happened a few years ago...my mom got Will some nice baseball pajamas for Christmas. Very thoughtful of her, we all know Will is a huge baseball fan. One small glitch in the plan...my mom completely missed the huge "#1 Dad" logo blasted all over the front of the shirt. haha! Only my mom...

Or how about the time when she surprised me with homemade muffins when I came home from college. Very nice of her. Although after tasting these treats, Will noticed something was "weird". My mom is not big on directions and measuring, especially when it comes to cooking. Come to find out she did not read the directions, and only added water to the package mix...leaving out the pertinent oil and eggs. Only my mom.....

It is funny to look back on my mom's moments of 'imperfection', but ultimately she has taught me that is okay to make mistakes. I think this is something we can all be reminded of from time to time. (Especially a perfectionist like myself!). Faults and all I would not change anything about her!

As a mother celebrating my first Mother's Day, I am curious what Will Jr is going to say about me one day....what memories he will have to share. At seven weeks old, he is not much of a talker...so I guess we will have to wait a few years to find out ;) haha

Happy Mother's Day Mommy's. This is your time to shine!

What is your favorite thing about your mom? Or do you have a favorite memory to share? Post your comments!

  1. You're a mom.

Still boggles my mind. Boggles my mind that I'm a dad, though, too.

You are a great mom and Will is lucky to have you (and so am I).
